Party's counsel says Wike remains governor till appeal fails

Furthermore, Uche expressed shock at the notice of judgement delivery saying it came that less than 24 hours after lawyers on all sides submitted nine written addresses and documents.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, counsel, Chris Uche, SAN has maintained that Nyesom Wike remains Rivers State governor till appeal processes are exhausted.

Reacting to the judgment delivered by Justice Suleiman Ambrosa, Uche said the judgment delivered by Justice Ambrosa-led Tribunal makes appeal necessary in the interest of justice.

With the indication that the PDP has plans to appeal the judgment of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, Uche noted that the tribunal’s reliance on card reader accreditation to nullify the governorship election requires testing at the Court of Appeal as evidences brought forward by respondents and petitioner include both card reader and manual accreditations.
