BOT to take over party’s affairs

The disclosure was made by BoT secretary, Ojo Madueke on Tuesday, May 24, 2014, at a press conference in Abuja, Daily Trust reports.

“We wish to appeal to our members who as a matter of ensuring their morale and political health of the party will be in receipt of announcements by the BoT of programmes and policies that will see to the election of credible officers and reposition the party to meet the yearnings of millions of Nigerians,” Madueke said.

Sheriff was removed on May 21, 2016, during the party’s convention on May 21, 2016.

The party subsequently created a caretaker committee led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi to handle its affairs.

However, both Sheriff and the committee have been restrained from taking actions on the party's behalf by Federal High Courts in Port Harcourt and Lagos respectively.
