Ngige made the comment on Monday, December 12, while speaking to journalists in Awka.

“I have a job I’m doing for the Federal Government. I’m in charge of labour and employment; I have too much on my hands to start talking about governorship in Anambra State,” he said according to The Sun.

“Right now, I have a powerful ministry that is challenging, my brain is working for now, the governorship does not concern me, but you will see me when APC picks its candidate for the 2017 election.

“The next election is about 11 months away which is a long period in politics and also short. APC will contest that election fully, effectively with all the resources at our disposal. And I can tell you without any fear of contradiction that Anambra will be an APC state.

“APC is working quietly. We first want to get our acts together. We will start registering new members next week by going to our wards. The good thing is that many people are showing enthusiasm to become members of APC,” he added.
