Why President hasn’t moved to Aso Rock – Aide

Shehu, who was formally appointed on Sunday, May 31, said that Buhari had not relocated into the villa because it was not yet suitable for habitation.

 

Media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari,Garba Shehu has explained why Nigeria’s new leader has not moved into the Presidential Villa, also known as Aso Rock.

The aide made the disclosure during an interview with Punch.

“As far as the President is concerned, the place (his official residence) is not ready yet. Workers are cleaning and refurbishing the place. Once the exercise is completed, the President will move in,” Shehu said.

Buhari was sworn in on Friday, May 29, and takes over from predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan.
