Dep. Gov. claims thugs tried snatching ballot boxes

There are claims that there were attempts by thugs to disrupt the ongoing Benue South Senatorial district.

Speaking to reporters in Otukpo, the Deputy Governor of Benue Mr Benson Abounu, claimed that the some skirmishes arose from alleged attempts by thugs to snatch ballot papers.

The rerun election is taking place in all polling units across the nine local governments in the senatorial district.

Sen. David Mark of the Peoples Democratic Party and Mr Daniel Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress are currently having their rerun election after an election tribunal cancelled the 2015 election for a rerun.
