'Nigeria is gradually returning to 1984'

The governor said this in reaction to the continued detention of Sambo Dasuki and Nnamdi Kanu in spite of court orders.

'Nigeria is gradually returning to 1984'

Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose recently said that Nigerian was gradually returning to the dictatorial days of 1984, where human rights were not valued and respected. The governor said this in reaction to the continued detention of  Sambo Dasuki and Nnamdi Kanu in spite of court orders. Fayose said that President Buhari has already pronounced them guilty before fair trial.

The Ekiti State governor told Nigerians to brace up in the New Year as the country gradually plunges into dictatorship, just like 1984 when Buhari of the military head of state.

He further labelled President Buhari's administration as a misadventure for Nigerians and called on international human right organisation to investigate the abuses of rights and contempt for court orders in the country.

Governor Fayose also said that he was highly disappointment in the president's responses during the recent media chat. He said the president still talked and acted like a military dictator and urged Nigerians to pray so that the country will to fall into darker days.
