PDP reacts to Obasanjo’s endorsement of Buhari

Obasanjo publicly declared his support for Buhari during the launch of his autobiography, “My Watch” on Tuesday, February 10, in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Peoples Democratic Party has reacted to the endorsement of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Muhammadu Buhari by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.

The PDP, through the Director of Media and Publicity of its Presidential Campaign Organization, Femi Fani-Kayode stated that it was unfortunate that Obasanjo had decided to support Buhari.

He said:

“I have not seen what he said or read his text. He is entitled to his views. He is a leading member of our party and we have great respect for him. I believe it will be a very sad day indeed if from what he knows about Buhari, he still goes ahead to endorse him,”

“This is about vote: about one man, one vote. But, we wish him well if he did so. We will meet them on the field,” Fani-Kayode said.

Obasanjo has often criticized PDP candidate and incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan calling him selfish and callous and likening his administration to that of former dictator, Sani Abacha.
