The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has remained silent over the recent discovery of ballot papers meant for Nigeria’s upcoming general elections in London.

The ballot papers were discovered lying loosely on the premises of Panther Printing Services, a local printing press in Essex.

According to Sahara Reporters, a staff of Panther stated that the company had only been hired to print ballot papers for Jigawa State.
However, ballot papers for several South-West states were also reportedly found on the company’s premises.

The original contract for the provision of the papers had been awarded to Cemoz International Limited, a Nigerian company, which consequently sub-contracted the job to printers in London.
The election materials were due to arrive in Nigeria before February 14, the original date for the elections, but INEC postponed the polls for six weeks citing security concerns.
