Court remands lawyer for allegedly defiling 13-year-old girl
An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday ordered that a 27-year-old legal counsel, ThankGod Nwedukwu, who allegedly defiled a 13-year-old girl, remanded in Custodial Centre.

The police charged Nwedukwu with defilement.
She adjourned the matter until March 11 for mention.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 19, about 7. 30p.m., at No. 96, Herbert Macaulay St., Ebute Meta.

He alleged that the defendant defiled the teenager.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State which prescribes life imprisonment for convicts.
He pleaded not guilty.
