Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun revealed that the payments are the first under the country's Whistleblower Policy.

It has been revealed that the government has paid a total of N375.8 million to 20 whistleblowers who provided information that led to the recovery over N11.6 billion.

This information was disclosed in a statement by the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, revealing that the payments are the first under the country's Whistleblower Policy, which entitles a whistleblower to a minimum of five percent of the money involved in the corruption case reported by the individual.

"The payment underscores the commitment of the President Muhmmadu Buhari-led administration to meet its obligations to information providers under the Whistleblower Policy, which is an essential tool in the fight against corruption," the statement read.
