‘We will resist coup attempts,’ APC leader says

Tinubu made the comment on Monday, May 22, while speaking at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

“I want to add my voice to that warning of coup attempt. They should not try it, those who want to break the democracy that many died for,” Tinubu said.

“You will have no fertile ground to plant the seed in Lagos. It is a bad product and I can assure you that we will reject it. Lagos will resist any form of action that plans to end the democracy we clamour for,” he added.

Tinubu spoke at a Parliamentary Session organized as part of activities for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Lagos state.

The APC leader was reacting to an alarm raised by Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai.

Buratai, last week, warned his soldiers to stop getting familiar with politicians.
