Senate President to appear at CCT everyday till end of trial

The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has said that Senate President, Bukola Saraki’s corruption trial will hold from 10am to 6pm daily until its conclusion.

The order was given by CCT Chairman, Justice Danladi Umar today, April 18, 2016.

“Let me state it here for both the prosecution and the defence that the trial of the defendant shall proceed on a day-to-day basis till the conclusion of this matter and it will begin from 10am to 6pm,” Umar said.

The CCT Chairman added that the court would however go on break at 1pm and 4pm.

Saraki is facing charges of asset declaration fraud before the tribunal and is alleged to have committed the offence during his tenure as the governor of Kwara State.
