The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to imprison anyone found guilty corruption.

Speaking at a summit organised by the Nigeria Police Force on Monday, August 17, the Sultan said it is not enough for the offenders to forfeit their asset, but should also be jailed.

Alhaji Abubakar, who called for the resuscitation of and passage of the bill on Police Trust Fund, also noted that it is not legal to collect a gift from the common people, as such action leads to all types of calamities.

“Where a gift finds its way to a man of authority, justice and goodness will find its way out of him. What he does is to purchase for himself a place in hell,” the Sultan said.
