‘No money to fund our embassies abroad,’ Buhari

The President said this while addressing diplomats who were just confirmed by the Senate.

Buhari called on Ambassadors to learn to do more with less, adding that their funding will improve as the economy gets back on its feet.

According to Punch, the President said this while addressing diplomats who were just confirmed by the Senate.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Buhari, Femi Adesina.

Buhari said “We are optimistic that the external factors that partly contributed to push our economy into recession will end in 2017.

“Until then, I regret that the resources available to fund our missions abroad will not be as robust as we would like.

“We are working hard to turn around our national economy by effectively reforming our macroeconomic environment through measures, some of which were outlined in my budget speech to the National Assembly last week.”

President Muhammadu Buhari also assured Nigerians that the 2017 budget will get the country out of the current economic crisis.
