A High Court in Abuja has cleared former Minister for Niger Delta Affairs,
The judgment was given on Tuesday, April 4, by presiding judge of the Apo court, Justice Olukayode Adeniyi.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) had charged Orubebe with six counts of fraud over an alleged N1.97 billion contract scam.
The ex-minister was accused of diverting funds meant for the compensation of owners of properties on the Eket Urban section of the East-West Road in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.
Orubebe was discharged and acquitted after the charge was withdrawn by the prosecution.

Other defendants in the case were an Assistant Director at the Ministry of Niger-Delta Affairs, Oludare Davis Alaba and the Director of Contracts, Gitto Costruzioni Generali Nig. Ltd., Ephraim Towede Zari.
