Afenifere chieftain reported dead

An Afenifere chieftain, Sir Olaniwun Ajayi has been reported dead at the age of 91.

According to a report by Punch Newspaper, Sir Ajayi died on Thursday night, November 3, 2016 at the age of 91-yrs-old

Sir Ajayi was reportedly confirmed dead by a medical practitioner at an undisclosed Lagos hospital.

Sir Olaniwun Ajayi was born in Isara Remo on April 8, 1925, to Benjamin Awoyemi Ajayi, a farmer and Marian Efundolamu Ajayi, who traded in the farm produce to sustain the family.

Sir Ajayi had his early education at Islamic Primary School, Epe where he schooled for three months and later enrolled into a primary school in 1937 and completed his primary education in Ode-Remo after-which authorities of the school engaged him to teach there due to his intelligence and excellent result.

Sir Ajayi is the author of a book entitled, Nigeria: Africa's Failed Asset.

The book, is a thoughtful, well researched and revealing account of the behind-the-scenes moves that led to the creation of Nigeria. The shaky foundation on which the nation is planted in reckless disregard of the settled principles of federalism leading inevitably to the quagmire in which Nigeria finds itself is thoroughly discussed.

Ajayi also offered a permanent solution to the seemingly insolvable problems plaguing the Nigerian state in his book.
