‘We are using refuse dump to punish governor’s challengers,’ Aide says

Okorocha’s spokesman, Samuel Onwuemeodo said the smelly dump is being used to punish people who challenged the governor.

Pastor predicts a series of affliction for Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha

According to Governor Rochas Okorocha’s Chief Press Secretary, Samuel Onwuemeodo, the smelly dump is being used to punish people in the area who challenged the governor.

Onwuemeodo reportedly made the comment during an early morning radio program on Hot 99.5 FM, Owerri.

“Government deliberately abandoned the refuse along Douglas Road, Owerri, to get back at Owerri people who have been battling the state government, over the relocation of the market,” Onwuemeodo said.

“Owerri people must be made to understand that they cannot eat their cake and have it. There is a court order restraining government from tampering with the market and this also explains why we left the refuse,” he added.

Okorocha’s government had earlier also attracted controversy after reducing the number of work days to three to force civil servants in the state to go farming.
