Lawan-Bashir-Kano, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, made this disclosure to newsmen on Thursday in Lafia.

He listed the two schools involved as Government Secondary School (GSS), Wakama in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area and GSS Shekkina, Argayaragu in Obi Local Government Area of the state.

Bashir-Kano explained that the command received reports of the alleged diversion of the fees from the Area Inspectorate Officers of Education in the affected locations and swung into action by inviting the suspects.

The State Commandant, who did not mention the name of the principals, said the command had to employ its alternative conflict resolution mechanism to unravel the issue.

He said that the mechanism had yielded positive results, as all the parties had agreed to the terms of repayment of the fees to the affected candidates.

“The principal of GSS Shekkina, Agyaragu, has refunded more than N400,000 to the 67 candidates affected while that of GSS Wakama, has promised to pay all the money before the end of June.

“Parents of the candidates and the affected principals have agreed to this arrangement by the command to resolve the matter amicably,” Bashir-Kano said.

He, therefore, called on members of the public to take advantage of the alternative conflict resolution department of the command to resolve similar cases rather than taking laws into their hands.
