Comptroller-General gives all officers 14-day ultimatum to declare assets

The directive, according to the circular, is in compliance with “The Bank Employees Declaration of Assets Act Cap B1 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.”

In a bid to push transparency and compliance with the rule of law, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hammed Ali rtd. has ordered all officers to of the Nigeria Customs Service to make full disclosure of their assets.

A circular, containing the new measure, and addressed to all Deputy Comptrollers-General, zonal coordinators and customs area controllers states that all officers are to comply with the directive within 14 days.
The Comptroller-General said many officers have ignored the the provisions of the Act over the years, affirming that the 14-day ultimatum must be strictly adhered to.
