Agency seizes bullion vans used for drug smuggling

One could have waved on such bullion vans if one had seen them on the road. No one would have thought that bags of Indian Hemp could be hidden inside the vans.

 

The Ogun state command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has arrested two bullion vans used for drug smuggling.

Sun Newspapers reports that a total of 41 bags of illicit drugs were found in the two vans.

Speaking to newsmen, the  state Commander of NDLEA, Mr. Bala Fagge, said “One could have waved on such bullion vans if one had seen them on the road. No one would have thought that bags of Indian Hemp could be hidden inside the vans.

“The bullion vans were abandoned by the drug dealers at Ijebu Igbo and in the border area at Ilara, Imeko Afon. We had made about five arrests in one month.”

He also said “We also made seizure of Cocaine totaling 104 grammes. We had secured 32 convictions and have 16 cases pending in court.”

Adding that “All the three tiers of government and all well meaning Nigerians must be involved. I want to warn drug dealers and traffickers to leave Ogun State.

“Investigations are on to arrest the owners of the abandoned bullion vans.”
