The group said in a statement signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Kagarko, that measures must also be taken by government and security agencies to prevent escalation of the crisis.

“There is also the need for the state government to as a matter of urgency, institute  a panel of investigation to fish out the perpetrators of this heinous act and ensure that appropriate punishment is given to them so as to serve as deterrent  to others,” it said.

According to SOKAMUDA, the attack occurred at a time when peace, understanding and harmonious relationships are gradually returning among various ethnic and religious groups in the state .

“SOKAMUDA is appealing to all the people of Kasuwan Magani and environs to do all they can to restore the communities to the path of peaceful and harmonious coexistence as there can be no meaningful socio-economic development in an atmosphere of  rancour.

” We passionately appeal to all people to be  law abiding  and eschew all forms of actions that will lead to the breach of peace and to cooperate and work with the security agencies to prevent occurrence of any form of violence.”

The association said the state and Federal Government should deepen  security measures to forestall  escalation of the crisis, while other stakeholders must work more and take pragmatic actions to make such attack impossible in the state.

It commiserated with the families of victims, including those who died, were injured or suffered material losses.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that SOKAMUDA is the umbrella body of Muslims in Southern Kaduna.
