1. He was born in Enugu to the family of Senator Ayoola Adeleke on Saturday, January 15, 1955. Late Senator Adeleke spent his early years in the coal city until the beginning of the Nigerian Civil War.

2. Late Senator Adeleke holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration.

3. Late Adeleke was governor of Osun state in the Third Republic.

4. He served as chairman, Governing Council, Nigerian Export Promotion Council; Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, University of Calabar.

5. Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke was first elected into the Senate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) before the last general election and was reelected into the upper legislative chamber in 2015.

6. Late Adeleke served as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Capital Market.

7. The late lawmaker is an uncle to Nigerian music star, Davido.
