The Sokoto State Government says it has disbursed N10 million loans to no fewer than 200 women and youths to enable them set up their own small scale businesses.

Hajiya Turai Hassan, the Director-General of the state’s Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SOSMEDA) disclosed this on Wednesday in Sokoto.
She spoke at the Special Day of the agency at the ongoing National Trade Fair holding in Sokoto.
Hassan said that out of the amount, N5 million was disbursed to 100 unemployed youths, adding that they were initially trained on business plans and other procedures.
According the DG, the balance of N5 million was disbursed to 100 women as loans in order to boost their capital base.
