Aisha Buhari foundation pays fine of 5 prison inmates

The wife of the president also donated some bags of rice, cartons of soap, detergents and Anti malaria drugs to other inmates of the prison.

The Wife of the President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, on Tuesday paid the fines for the release of five inmates in the Garu Satellite Prison in Dutse Local Government of Jigawa.

Aisha was represented by a Chieftain of All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Mustapha Fari.

She said that the gesture was part of a nationwide visit by her foundation ``Future Assured’’ to commemorate the holy month of Ramadan.

According to her, the foundation will be paying fines to free inmates and offer donations to any prison it visited across the country.

The wife of the president told the freed inmates that the gesture was done this season to enable them celebrate Sallah with their families.

She said that the freed inmates would be given a token of money for transportation to their various homes.

She enjoined those freed to be of good behaviour and productive in the society.
