The man died after a canoe conveying him and one other person capsized at the creek near the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa.

NAN learnt that the unlucky victim met his untimely death in the tragic incident before rescue could come his way, but the second passenger in the boat survived the accident.

Sources told NAN that the canoe capsized following violent waves caused by a passenger speedboat that sped past as the ill-fated boat was crossing to the other side of the creek.
