Jibrin was removed today, July 20, 2016, after an announcement by Speaker, Yakubu Dogara to that effect.

According to Daily Trust, he was sacked after it was discovered that he allocated projects worth over N4 billion to his Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State.

Jibrin was at the forefront of the 2016 budget drama after he urged President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the document without seeing all the details.

He has been replaced by Mustapha Bala Dawaki, also from Kano state.
