Commission says over-speeding led to the accident of Ekiti doctors

The Kaduna chapter of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), says over-speeding caused the accident which claimed the lives of six Ekiti medical doctors last Sunday.

Salisu Galadunci , The Sector Head of Operations, made this revelation on Tuesday during an interview with Newsmen in Tuesday in Kaduna.

According to NAN, the terrible accident occurred on Sunday at Doka, along Abuja –Kaduna road.

“Twelve medical doctors and a driver were in an 18-seater bus travelling to Sokoto for ’s annual conference and had a tyre bust due to over speeding.

“The vehicle overturned with the occupants and six of the doctors died along with the driver while six others survived with various degrees of injuries.

“Bodies of the victim were evacuated to for depositing and medical attention”.

Galadunci noted that over speeding was responsible for a larger percentage of accidents on Nigerian roads.

The official then advised that drivers should desist from over speeding, in order not to endanger their own lives, and the lives of other road users.
