‘I salute Nnamdi Kanu’s spirit,’ Governor says

Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose has praised Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu for his spirit.

Fayose showed his support for Kanu on Tuesday, April 25, by appearing at the IPOB leader’s trial in Abuja.

“I am here in solidarity with Nnamdi Kanu for his courage in the face of intimidation and harassment in our country, a country that belongs to all tribes and to everyone,” the governor told journalists at the end of the court hearing.

“This country belongs to us. This oppression must not continue. God is greater than man. This is a phase in our country and it shall surely pass.

“I salute your spirit Nnamdi Kanu. Keep the hope alive; one day, history will be on your side. I have come to identify with the Igbo nation, the people that are under great torture and embarrassment and harassment. We have seen today, tomorrow the story will get better,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Federal High Court in Abuja has granted Kanu bail to the tune of N100 million.

Kanu however rejected the bail offer because his three co-accused persons were not granted bail by the court.
