Pulse reliably gathered that Senator Waziri passed away on Easter Monday, April 17, 2017 after a brief illness.

The Gombe State indigene lost his ticket for re-election into the Senate in 2011 after a keenly contested process in his senatorial district.

In 2016, the Waziris lost their 39-year old daughter, Jackie Ifidon-Ola Waziri, to an undisclosed ailment at an Abuja Hospital.
