Ex-minister's wife reportedly detained by EFCC

Wife of Femi Fani Kayode has been reportedly detained by the men of the EFCC in Ado Ekiti for charges yet to be disclosed.

 

In a report by Punch Newspaper, Mrs Fani-Kayode was detained on Monday afternoon, October 17, 2016 at about 3pm when she had gone to an Access Bank branch for a financial transaction.

The report further alleged that the ex-Minsiter's wife was in Ekiti, on the invitation of the state's governor, Peter Ayodele Fayose.

Mrs. Fani-Kayode was reportedly delayed by the Access Bank officials, who acted on the instructions of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The ex-Miss United Nations was also reported to have been detained alongside her eight-month-old baby, who was with her during her arrest.

There are no words yet from her husband, Gov Fayose and the EFCC.

On Friday, October15,2016, the EFCC filed fresh charges of money laundering against the ex-minister having investigated him for the transaction of certain N26m.
