I'm entitled to privacy, Lawmaker reacts to purchase of N180m Rolls Royce

According to a report on Premium Times on Thursday, October 4, 2016, Senator Melaye had bought a 93-year-old car at an estimated amount of N180 million.

The Rolls Royce with registration number “MELAYE 2”  is believed to cost some $400,000.

Reacting to the report, the lawmaker said: "Did you talk to me before you did your earlier report? The way you got the other news go, and get another one. “I am entitled to my privacy and I should be respected,” he added.

Melaye who chairs the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory has at least 28 of the expensive cars parked at his upmarket residence in Maitama, Abuja.

Senator Melaye recently advised President Muhammadu Buhari to grant amnesty to public officials who stole the country’s money but are willing to return the looted funds.
