The former minister  was accused of awarding a Crude Oil swap deal worth  $24b approximately over N7.2tr without any contract.

Following revelations made by a former Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr. Austin Oniwon, the committee summoned Diezani to come and shed more light on the deals.

Mr. Madueke was later granted an administrative bail.

Diezani Alison-Madueke has since denied reports that she awarded crude oil swaps valued at $24 billion without the necessary contracts.
