‘President will get final details of 2016 budget this week,’ Legislator says

President Muhammadu Buhari had refused to sign the budget, which was passed on March 24, without having all the details.

 

Adaranijo, who represents the Agege Federal Constituency of Lagos State, made the disclosure on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, after inspecting some projects in the state, Punch reports.

“The delay was caused by the lapses identified in the budget. As responsible parliamentarians, the lapses identified had to be sorted out first,” he said.

Buhari had refused to sign the budget, which was passed on March 24, without having all the details.

The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin has however said that there’s nothing wrong with the president signing the budget without knowing the final details.
