Folorunsho Coker to head NTDC not NFVCB – Presidency

The presidency says Adedayo Thomas is the Executive Director of the National Film and Video Censors Board, (NFVCB), not Folorunsho Coker.

President Muhammadu Buhari presides over Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, March 15.

Mr Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President made clarification in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.

He said Mr Adedayo Thomas was the Executive Director of the National Film and Video Censors Board, (NFVCB).

The statement read: “As part of new appointments approved for government agencies and parastatals by President Muhammadu Buhari on March 31, 2017, Mr Folorunsho Coker, is the new Director-General for Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), while Mr Adedayo Thomas, is the Executive Director of the National Film and Video Censors Board, (NFVCB).

“This corrects the earlier announcement that Mr Coker is of the National Film and Video Censors Board.’’

It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari approved the appointments of new executive management for the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and some agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Mr Duro Onabule, one time Editor of the defunct National Concord as well as Chief Press Secretary to former President Ibrahim Babangida was named as Chairman of the Board of the Nigeria Television Authority.

His appointment was announced on Friday along with those of new Executive Directors of the NTA.

They are Dr Steve Egbo (Administration and Training), Abdul Hamid Salihu Dembos (Marketing), Mohammed Labbo (News), Fatima M. Barda (Finance), Stephen Okpanachi (Engineering) and Wole Coker (Programmes).
