The first pledge of allegiance was made by Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau via an audio message in March 2015.

The video, said to be titled “Investigate”, was first released on March 31st, 2016.

The authenticity of the latest video is however in doubt as it is seen as an attempt by the sect to show strength in the light of recent military victories against it.
