Former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, was on life support before his death on Saturday, October 10, 2015, it has been revealed.

Alamieyeseigha’s younger brother, Ziworitin, shared the photo showing the late politician hooked to the machine at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) in Rivers State.

A family source had earlier told The Nation that the late Alamieyeseigha was taken off life support when his condition proved to be too critical.

"He was on a life support but it was later discovered that the machine could no longer sustain him. I was there when it was removed. He was then certified dead,” the source said.

Governor Seriake Dickson also blamed Alamieyeseigha’s death on the harassment he suffered which led him to abandon medical care abroad and return to Nigeria.
