President’s wife not involved in bribery scandal – Lamorde

Lamorde made the clarification after Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose accused Buhari’s wife of committing the crime.

 

Lamorde made the clarification to Premium Times after Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayoseaccused Buhari’s wife of committing the crime.

“I can tell you authoritatively that the Aisha Buhari named in that case is not President Buhari's wife. It is another Aisha Buhari entirely,” Lamorde said on Tuesday, June 21, 2016.

“I was the director of operations at the EFCC at the time so I know about the case very well. I can tell you that it is not her (President Buhari's wife). That much we established,” he added.

Fayose made the accusation on Monday, June 20 after his bank account was frozen by the EFCC.
