News of Ali’s death at the hands of Boko Haram broke on Saturday, November 5, and has seen an outpouring of praise at his bravery in fighting the sect.

President Muhammadu Buhari joined the crowd of praise singers and announced that Ali’s death, and the deaths of other soldiers who fought the sect, would never be in vain.

The six other soldiers are:

The 7 military personnel will be buried at the National Cemetery in Abuja.
