Oyo govt slashes salaries of political appointees by 50%

The SSG also stated that the state executive council has resolved to cut government spending by 50%.

According to reports, this is a fall out of the dwindling resources of the state government and the harsh economic situation in the country.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Olalekan Ali, also said the decision was reached during the state executive meeting.

The state government also announced the award of a N28b contract for the dualisation of some roads.

Ali also told newsmen that the state government has blocked all tax loop holes and discovered many fraudulent salary accounts.

The Association of Resident Doctors , Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso had earlier appealed to Governor Abiola Ajimobito pay them their full salaries.
