South-East Governors deliberate on next line of action

Reports say the South-East Governors also planned to send buses to bring back Igbos living in the North.

This was revealed to Vanguard by the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo on Wednesday, June 7, 2017.

A group known as the Coalition of Northern Youths (CNY) had earlier given people from the South-East 90 days to leave the region.

The ultimatum has been condemned by notable Nigerians, including a former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar.

Also, the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed said security operatives are handling the matter.

Reports say the South-East Governors were planning to send buses to bring back Igbos living in the North.

According to the Ohanaeze Ndigbo chieftain, the Governors did not go ahead with their plan, because of Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s order for the arrest of those who issued the ultimatum.

Members of the youth group however condemned Governor El-Rufai for calling for their arrest.
