The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, was in Kaduna state on Tuesday, January 12th, to lay foundation for 2000 affordable houses and a mall.

While making his speech, he appreciated Governor Mallam Nasiru El Rufai's efforts.

“The governor represents the change that is being talked about. Under the governor, Kaduna State will truly be great again.”

Osinbajo went on to say that the Federal Government, under President Buhari's administration, is committed to addressing the 17 million housing deficit.

“I want to emphasize that when we talk of change, what we are really saying is that it is possible for government to meet the needs of the people, that government is not just about going around in motorcades and looking important, but it is serving the people. One of the reasons why people “voted for us is because they believed in change and that we are able to provide that kind of leadership.”

The News reports that the 2,000 housing units project will be completed within the four years of Governor Rufai's tenure.

However, the first phase of the housing scheme will be complete within 12 months.

The N5 billion shopping mall and galleria is expected to be completed within 18 months.

Do you agree that the FG can meet the housing needs of Nigerians?
