According to The Guardian, the Japanese automaker intends to put safety systems in 25 out of 30 Lexus and Toyota models.
Automaker to equip cars with automatic emergency braking by 2017
Toyota has revealed it's plans to take road safety seriously, thereby reducing the rate of crashes.
Toyota models will come with safety features, such as emergency braking
Before the end of 2017, radars, laser beams, and cameras to prevent collisions will also come as standard features.
Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Motor North America, Jim Lentz, said these safety features are important because they will help prevent accidents.
“High-level driver assist technologies can do more than help protect people in the event of a crash; they can help prevent some crashes from ever happening in the first place", he stated.

Toyota's announcement comes after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave a 2022 deadline for making automatic braking a standard feature on all new cars.
