Rand extends losses, down more than 2 percent against dollar

The rand was up 2.19 percent at 14.5925 against the dollar by 1425 GMT.

South Africa's rand extended losses to more than 2 percent against the dollar, tracking an emerging market sell-off and companies buying the greenbacks after a long weekend, traders said.
