FG to reduce traffic by developing national transportation master plan

The minister of transportation, has revealed the Federal Government’s plan to reduce traffic in Nigeria.

The Federal Government is developing a national master plan that will reduce the traffic in Nigeria.

This was revealed by Mr Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the minister of transportation.

“The government of President is in the process of developing a national transportation master plan that will be implemented as a fulfillment one of his campaign promises to diversify the national economy while improving non-oil sector revenues.

“While reducing dependence on oil revenues, it will also develop the rural economy, reduce unemployment and urban drift."

Amaechi made this known while briefing journalists in Lagos state.

This is not the only plan to decongest traffic this year.

Amaechi has also revealed the Federal Government’s plan to complete Abuja – Kaduna railway line.

He added that this would encourage the transportation of passengers and goods across Nigeria.
