2 brides leave guests at wedding reception to go write final year exam

Because when they fixed their wedding date, they never expected their exam to get postponed and coincide with it.

Dressed in their lily white wedding dresses and granted a special seat in front of the class, Dorcas Atsea and Deborah Atoh,  who had invited friends and family for their wedding, had to first be done with their exam before joining guests for the reception.

As CNN reports, their media ethics and law exams at the Benue State University, originally scheduled for February, were postponed, causing the brides to first go for the church ceremony, then to the exam hall and afterwards to the venue of the reception where guests were waiting for the wedding party to kick off.

"My wedding was already fixed and planned before the exam," Atsea told CNN. "I attempted to shift the exam, but to no avail."

Atoh tells CNN that university officials asked that she choose between "the exam or the wedding."

The brides chose both.

Atsea shares with CNN that her classmates provided her with a celebratory atmosphere when she stepped into the exam hall.

"When I walked into the hall, for ten minutes everybody was just shouting before we started the exam and after the exam, I went back to the reception venue because my guests were waiting for me," she says.
