Here's What Paul Walker Told Vin Diesel After Filming the First Fast and Furious Movie

Vin Diesel opened up about a memory that he had with Paul Walker after filming the original Fast and Furious film. "Take this all in, because this will be our last moment of anonymity," Walker told him. Walker died in 2013-his final film was 2015's Furious 7.

Vin Diesel Remembers the Advice Paul Walker Shared

Almost six years after Paul Walker's death in a car accident, his Fast and Furious co-star Vin Diesel is revisiting a special moment the two of them shared.

In an animated video feature from Rotten Tomatoes, Diesel recounted a rather clairvoyant comment Walker made to him once. He and Walker were sitting at the airport, and they'd just finished filming 2001's The Fast and the Furious.

"Take this all in, because this will be our last moment of anonymity," Diesel remembers Walker saying to him. "He knew that we struck a chord in the public somehow."

Of course, Walker was right-their original film grossed over $200 million dollars against a $38 million dollar budget, and the franchise is the biggest that Universal has ever had, and one of the highest-grossing overall in film history. That number will only rise further later this summer, when Hobbs and Shaw is released.

Diesel offered the quote up at the end of a video breaking down the memorable "Cars Don't Fly" scene from 2015's Furious 7. Rotten Tomatoes' has been breaking down the 21 most memorable movie moments of the last 21 years, in celebration of the website's 21st birthday in 2019. Furious 7 was Walker's final appearance in the franchise, and final film overall.

Diesel further reflected on just how much the Fast and Furious movies have meant to him.

"It's a big part of my life," he said. "Both the happy times, and the severe melancholy that has come with this whole franchise."

In addition to Hobbs and Shaw, two more Fast and Furious sequels are in production, due in 2020 and 2021.
