Ever wondered what it could be like to stay on the moon? This could soon be reality as the European Space Agency has claimed its incredible "moon village" will one day allow tourists to stay on the moon.
Tourists could soon vacation in the moon
This adventure is not without its fair share of risks however as ESA warned lunar tourists that they could face exposure to "solar radiation, micro meteorites and extreme temperatures"
According to ESA Director General, Johann-Dietrich Wörner, asides holiday makers, businessmen, scientists and even miners who are likely to be interested in extracting minerals from the moon will be invited to stay in the incredible lunar resort.
Don't count on wearing a bikini or any other holiday attire for that matter as humans would need to don a space suit to avoid instant death on the freezing, airless lunar surface.
According to Mirror, the base is likely to be constructed near the poles, offering access to water for drinking and possibly swimming if ESA decides to fit the base with a pool.
Speaking further on the project, Wörner said it was likely that Russians would be among the first to use the base, adding that they'd look for different activities, be it science, business, tourism or mining.
It is also hoped that China, India and Japan will help to build the village.
