Air Alaska pilot arrested for flying plane while drunk

In a twist of events reminiscent of the 2012 Denzel Washington movie, "Flight" a retired Air Alaska pilot has been arrested over suspicions that he operated flights while under the influence.

60-year old David Hans Arntson was tested for alcohol after two flights, and both tests(0.134 and then 0.142) showed he was over the 0.10 federal limit for pilots flying commercial planes.

Hans Arntson was arraigned on the felony charge, and released on a $25,000 bail ahead of a February 10 arraignment.

According to Mashable, Arntson retired soon after the flights due to medical reasons.

The maximum penalty for operating a commercial plane while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is 15 years in federal prison.
