Global News reports that the Thai government shut down 3 of its islands - Koh Khai Nok, Koh Khai Nui and Koh Khai Nai to all visitors.as a result of “excessive tourism.”

Also, sun chairs, umbrellas, food stalls, and tour boats have overcrowded the islands, leading to “the degradation of natural resources and the environment.”

Furthermore, boat anchors, swimmers, and snorkelers have destroyed as much as 80% of the area’s reefs.

It would be recalled that earlier in the month, Thailand announced the closureof Koh Tachai island indefinitely due to the same excessive tourism.
