To make any form of bean cake, soups and more beans are supposed to be peeled/de-skinned to remove the outer part leaving it clean (when properly clean/peeled/de-skinned, the beans will be white)
For a lot of people who struggle with peeling beans perfectly, it should be noted that it's best to soak in water for about five minutes to get a little soft but not for too long to make it soggy.
